  1. Is my credit card information secure?

Albawaba Travel provides you with the industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology that encrypts personal data and online payment information that is transferred across the Internet from your computer to Albawaba Travel. This makes it, for example, safer than providing your credit card details over the phone.

  2. What is 'SSL'?

Albawaba Travel uses the powerful SSL (Secured Sockets Layer) technology for secure transmissions. SSL applies 128-bit encryption to provide confidentiality between your computer and Albawaba Travel. The definition of encryption is: "… a process for encrypting data to prevent illicit entry into a system… or interception of information as it travels over the network." That's why you must use an SSL enabled browser to make a reservation with Albawaba Travel. When your data is transmitted over the Internet, it is encrypted at the sending end and then decrypted at the receiving end. All information is kept on a secure server and is protected by a firewall. As an added precaution, the firewall is monitored for security breach attempts.

  4. How do I know if the connection is secure?

The common standard in the Internet to signal a secure site is a closed lock icon at the bottom of the browser. As long as the lock is displayed closed your information is secure and encrypted to avoid abuse. If you click the secure transaction link and still cannot see the closed lock, the reason may be that the windows in nested in another frame. To make sure you have a secure connection (in Internet Explorer), click the right mouse button on the web page and view the properties menu, then certificates. Then you will see if the connection is secure or not. Another way (in Netscape), click the right mouse button and 'view frame info' at the bottom of the text you will see Security information.
